A Costco Beauty Haul of YSL, EOS and Honest.

I headed to Costco to see if I could score Jenna Hipp's second set of nail polish... Set 2 was not available but that's ok, I scored some other pretty amazing deals instead! My opinions of The Honest Company seemed simple: They made stuff for babies. Wellll yes but there are adult appropriate things too, like Honest Shampoo & Body Wash in Sweet Vanilla Orange . The scent is very light and natural, for me it is barely detectible. There is no skimping in quality here, the vegan formula is thick and requires no more product than you would normally use. It rinses cleanly and leaves my skin very soft thanks to jojoba and coconut oils. Costco Members can purchase a special 2 pack of 17oz (500mL) bottles - valued at $40 - for only $14.99.

Lips to Tips : A YSL Manicure set

The day before Franci and I were going to attend the Nordstrom Trend Show, their Spring Beauty catalogue arrived at my home. Flipping through the pages I came across a rare YSL Gift with Purchase : Spend $90 on nail or lip products and receive a limited edition mani / pedi set. I found the timing impeccable as I am in the market for new mani tools and was hoping I could find a set I could travel with or at least toss in my bag.

Sweet like YSL Honey. #28Kisses

I had no idea how coveted this lipstick was until I posted a swatch on Beautylish. Rouge Volupté #4 is known as Honey and is the ultimate nude lipstick. Super creamy , very pigmented and very glo ssy , t he Rouge Volupté collection is create d with Mango oil which giv es the li psticks a sweet scent and slick feel. The colour payoff is incredible. It only takes one swipe per lip for awesome coverage and *truth be told* this is my go-to base shade for my lip glosses. Especially YSL Golden Gloss in #2 . The shade is too much like my skin tone and I look unbelieveabl y washed out when I wear this alon e , so I don't. This lipstic k is very moisturizing and very lightweight. T he creamy finish is more oily th an buttery feeling, to me. And I find it does not last as long as it claims but it does not feather off of my lips nor does it oxidize to a different s hade: it is tube true throughout it's entire w ear. I can honestly say that my lips feel softer after w earing ...

DFandC Co. YSL and Lancome: A Discount Haul

By now you know that I can not resist cosmetics when they are on sale. Not only is it extremely difficult to find makeup on sale when you do find it, it's not the 'good stuff'. Well, it is now!! I was introduced to Designer Fragrance & Cosmetic Co around 1999/2000 - a Lancome based outlet and the brands under the parent umbrella; YSL, kiehl's, Polo and Giorgio Armani Cosmetics to name a few. I've been lucky to score a few YSL items for as much as 70% off of full retail and this trip yielded a few scores too!

Yves Saint Laurent Eye Shadow Duo

For Ombres Duolumieres in #15 Rich colours and long lasting, this was my favourite pallet Fall '10. With a shimmering all over / highlighting pink 'Shimmering Quartz" and a defining 'Deep Amethyst' purple, this set can be used wet or dry and comes with 2 sponge applicators; one wide for all over coverage and a thin one for lining and defining.   Highly pigmented, a little goes a long way. I love smudging the darker shade in all of my smokey eye looks - it's dramatic and seductive. They go on silky smooth and never look frosty, just beautiful and are quite long lasting - even for an oily eyelid. A splurge at $41 ($20.50 per shadow) I have 2 sets and I will probably not buy more because Department Store Divas, get a bigger bang for your buck with Dior's 5 Couleurs Designer pallets.  4 stars out of 5. xoxo
