Mani Monday: Butter London Scrubbers Review

I had high hopes for these Scrubbers by +butter LONDON . Scrubbers, our 2-in-1 wipes, are designed to strip away yesterday’s mani and prep your nails for your next bespoke nail creation. All with one little wipe. I was test driving the new shades that I purchased at +Nordstrom +Westfield Valley Fair and thought this would be the perfect way to test drive the remover from my GWP, too. Instantly I was impressed with the thickness of the pad; I knew it would be able to handle the same spot rubbing over the nail, break down a variety of lacquers. It did a great job of removing non-glitter formulas, however it did not stay moist enough to break down all 10 non-glittered nails. I had to add some of my own remover to the pad so I could finish the last 3. I feel it's more realistic to use 1  Scrubbers  per hand, and at 10 pads for $10, this could get expensive, quickly. Do I recommend them? Absolutely! They are perfect as an on-the-go remover o...

Hardwear Topcoat by Butter London

Yep. It is the best designer topcoat.  Hardwear  dries quickly, provides high shine that lasts for days and does not craze or discolour. I appreciate the fact that I can use this on top of any brand of lacquer. The glass vessel is easy to hold as is the applicator and the bristles posses the right amount of firmness; they do not spread too far apart and provide a consistent application every time. I only need 1 coat of this awesome topcoat, I seal my edges and then top off my nails. I change my nail polish every 3 days so I use this often and I find that I am able to use about 3/4 of the product before I have to discard the rest. Ihighly recommend Hardwear and rate it a coveted 5 out of 5 stars.  xoxo •Nancy-Lee

Butter London and Joe's. A Nordstrom Rack haul.

I love when Nordstrom Rack offers an additional 25% off of their clearance merchandise. Franci and I met at Oakridge mall and I scored 2 amazing finds. First up was a Butter London Lippy lipgloss trio, with a $34 value, this set retailed for $25, was marked down to $10 and the additional 25% off promo brought it to $7.50!

Knackered by Butter London

The first thing I said to Franci when I spotted this lacquer by +butter LONDON   was, 'This looks like the Milky Way!' Knackered is described as a sheer, twinkling oyster shade flecked with micro glitter particles . The purple gray base dances beautifully against the glitter. Don't let the word glitter scare you off; it was very easy to remove. I applied 3 coats of Knackered so the opacity matches the bottle as I am not one for sheer shades. Like all of my experiences with Butter London, it applied cleanly, leveled evenly and lasted 36 hours before it started chipping. This is a delicious shade that you should add to your collection. I rate Knackered 4.5 stars out of 5. xoxo •Nancy-Lee

Sunbaker. Butter London's Statement Maker.

A shade that summons the beaches of Summer's past, it is perfect for a Fall fling, too... just make sure you're ok with one night stands because this shade chipped the very next day. About 12 hours to be exact. I applied 1 coat of basecoat but did not finish my nails with a topcoat. Sunbaker offers the rare 1 coat coverage but I preferred the second coat for a richer look. The shade is an amazing rusted orange shimmer. Not glitter, a fine golden shimmer. Because of the significant chipping, I rate Sunbaker 3.5 stars. It's not the first shade that I would grab if I were painting my nails the night before an event. xoxo •Nancy-Lee

Jaded Jack Cream Eyeshadow, Butter London.

One of my dear friends made a comment that I only seem to post +4 star products. Which got me to thinking, it's because I do not come across products that don't deliver that often. I make mention of this because this is one of those rare times that something didn't deliver. WINK Cream Eye Shadow in Jaded Jack . This grass green shimmer is very thin in consistency. Actually it is quite 'watery'. You have to have a light hand and apply this with as few strokes as possible; the more you mess with it the less product seems to stick around. And while I was able to add an additional coat on to the back of my hand to deepen the finish, that didn't translate to my eyelid. I was only able to apply one coat or the second coat lifted the first. So I went for a simple eye. I applied one coat of Jaded Jack cream eyeshadow, waited for it to dry, added Union Jack eyeliner to the top of my lash line and my waterline then I finished with 2 coats of Physician's Fo...

Jaded Jack, Lime Lacquer.

Opaque, lime green crème. Unsung British rock hero. I love this shade of acidic lime green. It will pair amazingly with navy, white and gold. Per my usual I start with Butter London 's Nail Foundation and 2 coats of Jaded Jack . Two coats is all it took for pure opacity. I wait 2 minutes between each coat and finish with Butter London 's Hardwear topcoat. The creamy finish is mostly matte, there is a little sheen but I could see the finish dulling quickly, another reason I added a high shine topcoat.

New product release: Today is a very exciting day! Butter LONDON has entered the cosmetics market in a huge way! They reached out to me and asked if I was interested in trying some new products and YEAH! butterLONDON: Slapper

HOT! I love this shade! Actually, I am so in love with butterLONDON, I am slowing converting my collection.  If you are not familiar with butterLONDON their nail lacquers are high fashion and 3 Free (non-toxic).  Free of: Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP and Parabens.   Starting Nail Foundation, I apply one coat and wait 2 minutes before I apply two coats of Slapper. Waiting a 2 minute wait between those coats, too. I finish by applying one coat of Hardwear, butterLONDON's top coat. See my introduction to butterLONDON here! From the 2012 Summer collection it is described perfectly: A truly teal lacquer, bold and very bright.  You might be thinking to yourself, are her nails chipped?  Yes they are - I wanted to show you how little chipping there is...

Backstage Basics by butterLONDON

I was attending the Nordstrom Spring Trend Show March 31st and came across a tiny area of nail polishes where my eye caught a set by butterLONDON. Purchase the Backstage Basics box of Nail Foundation, Hardwear, Powder Room Remover and File then add your favourite colour and the set is $39.  This is a phenomenal deal as you're getting the polish for free: The included three products are valued at $39 before you factor the file and the full size colour that you are going to choose.  In need of a new base and top coat, I take the plunge and try something new.
