Time for the Winter 2014 +Nordstrom Beauty Trend Show. With +Franci by my side, we sat front row enjoying an unobstructed view of the latest work, play and holiday fashion as well as makeup and skincare specialties from the beauty department. We're always treated to a shopping tote of varying kind with water, juice, coffee and mini muffins and fruit to satisfy early morning hunger.
After the After the show, we headed straight for the +butter LONDON setup to see +Katie Jane Hughes and discover the latest and greatest for the season. I grabbed a new bottle of Nail Foundation and a Limited Edition Giddy Kipper - Opaque, indigo shimmer - and Franci added her Bric-A-Brac - Full coverage, flaring shimmers in saffron red gel-like base - onto the order so I could qualify for the super awesome GWP: a full size of Royal Navy,- Nautical and naughty, this is the answer to your navy blue nail lacquer dreams. - nail file and 1 Scrubbers nail polish remover pad, tucked inside the fuchsia bag with black embossed logo details.
Since 3 bottles clearly weren't enough for me, I added the brand new Marrakesh Express - spiced sienna splurge (glitter) - by +Deborah Lippmann and the doll of a rep gave us each an eco-file nail file made from recycled paper. Well weighted, it files quickly and accurately.
After a quick trip to +coffee bean and tea leaf we headed to +LUSH where I added First Snow, a white/silver Sparkling Dusting Powder for $7.95 and the Festive Cheer set to my growing body care collection, with a 3.3oz bottle of Hot Toddy shower gel and full size Yog Nog Soap for only $16.95.
It's rare to find silver body shimmer, as gold represents the glow of sun-kissed skin. While Lush offers both, I have a golden shimmer from +100% Pure making First Snow a no brainer. The light citrusy scent smells a touch floral thanks to the addition of lime; It's unexpected for a winter fragrance and does not compete with my perfume. You can use it on your body, face and hair.
Hot Toddy sparkles as much as it cleans. This ruby red gel might be vegan but it is not free of synthetics or parabens. Blended with orange, cinnamon and a dash of cognac, it smells like a gentleman's drink. Limited Edition, it retails for $9.95.
Vegan by way of soy yogurt and a dash of festive spice, Yog Nog has that unmistakable creamy texture with a fudgy, spiced blend of clove bud and ylang ylang essential oils and finished with a generous dusting of aromatic cocoa and nutmeg powder. It smells like graham crackers! Or pie crust! Retailing separately for $6.95, buying this set is a loss of 5¢ - you are paying for the convenience of a pre-wrapped gift.
I know.... it's November in January! Thank you for joining my super late Holiday Haul! What have you been treating yourself to, lately? xoxo •Nancy-Lee.
