Indie Lee and HauteLook Haul

This was my very first purchase off of HauteLook!
The French word haute sounds like "oat", the H is silent.

One early morning I was reading my Twitter timeline and saw that Indie Lee made a post about being on HauteLook that weekend.  I pounced!  Since it was the weekend before my Birthday, this is what I decided to spend my personal birthday fund on: SEVEN items!!  But with saving up to 62% off of her full price, how could I resist? You're right, I couldn't.  Having only smelled the scrub while on a Beauty Army photo shoot,  I knew I would love the rest of the line so I treated myself to:

#22 ~ 30 Day Challenge

#22 ~ You Academics.

This could be one of those, you hope your Mom doesn't read this post, posts.  But fortunately, it's the one thing that she has never scoffed at.  I graduated a year early from high school and made what I always considered one biggest mistake of my life; I did not go to college right away and took 1 year off.  Big mistake. Huge. By the time I went to college, A) I had to take entry exams because my SATs were expired and B) I forgotten almost everything and found myself a former honor student in a remedial math class.  Awesome.  I dropped out after 1 semester due to cost, I couldn't afford paying for it on my own and my mom was not in the position, having lost my Father 2 years earlier.  Over the years I lost out on several opportunities to even interview because I didn't have a degree. I really blamed myself for not having one for a very long time.

As I near 40, I look back at that 17 year old girl and I couldn't be happier the way things ultimately worked out.  Proof once again that the Goddess Mother provides us exactly what we need, even when we don't see it at the time. Highest level of education: √ Some College.

Micro-dermabrasion in a Bottle.

I was super excited to be able to select Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips black soap as one of the samples in my Beauty Army Kit.  After I heard the members rave and rave about how fabulous it is, I was keeping my fingers crossed that I would be also be able to choose this bottle of black gold.

I knew the product would be black in colour but that's actually all I knew. I heard all kinds of descriptions from, 'it doesn't smell like anything' to 'It smells like dirt' and even a 'It smells like dog biscuits.' To me the scent is very light. It smells herbal like vitamins. This does not bother me because I do not want perfume in my facial cleanser.  Why would I... what is the fragrance trying to cover?
